Direction disbanded in the fall of 2000. We would like to sincerely thank all the kids who got so excited about the band and supported us with so much sincerity, even though we never really got anywhere. Members of Direction can now be found in bands like Bones Brigade, Run Devil Run, and Soul Cries. Vishy is singing Vaishnava bhajans, beautiful as ever. Please visit the music section at www.afoundationunshaking.com for info on all of our new projects, including more on Direction itself. There are also plenty of devotional, spiritual writings there from Zack and others.

Direction started as a side project by Zack in 1998 when he was in the hardcore band Incite. He continued writing and recording Direction material by himself after Incite and while he was in Proof Positive. In the last days of 1999, Direction became a full band with his friends from Boston - Andrew, Blake, Vish, and Doug. Before the end, Direction recorded at two studio sessions. Zack also did many, many solo songs in his basement on his 4-track. Some of them were recorded before the other members joined, and others were recorded while he was not with them in Boston, meant to become studio-recorded and eventually released Direction tracks with the whole band. These tracks never were learned and thus never saw the light of day. They will soon be released on a comprehensive collection of material spanning Direction's entire existence from 1998 - 2000 entitled The Velocity Sessions. The release will showcase a number of musical influences, ranging from youth-crew hardcore, to melodic hardcore, to metal. It also reveals a spiritual, personal progression through the different moods expressed in the lyrics in chronological order. All in all, it should be a positive listen and we sincerely hope to get it out there soon!

DIRECTION DISCOGRAPHY:

(Compilation on Broken Bones Records)
Cassette only - ? made, 1999
Direction track: "Survive"
I can't remember the name of this. Hopefully when BBR gets their site back up, they'll have this surely out of print tape up on there. The song sounds like 7 Seconds in '84, but if Kev had Lou Koller's voice. It was recorded by Zack in the basement in June of 1999, before anyone else had joined the band.

DEMO 2000
(Self-released)

Cassette only - 100 made, 2000
This is our official demo, recorded in January of 2000 and featuring Zack, Vishy, and Andrew (no one else could make it to Ohio, where Zack lived/lives, for the studio session!). There are still about 45 of these available, so get your copy now! The first 55 were sold as-is, but the remaining copies (56-100) were recently hand-numbered by Zack for validity. 3 tracks of blistering hardcore straight outta the most belligerent corners of 1988. The riff on "Capital 'I'" is even snagged directly from "Give It Up" by Judge - a mistake we didn't realize until almost two years after the demo's release!!! Sorry, Porcell!!! :)
Price: Cassette - $3

The Velocity Sessions
(True Cause Records)

CD-R / Cassette - not yet compiled nor released!
Keep checking for info about this release, or get in touch with Zack at rajavidya@waronillusion.com to be personally notified! 40 tracks of hardcore of many different types and lyrics representing the progression of an individual through various stages of positive and spiritual life. (Hence the fact that Zack is unhappy with some of the tracks in the middle!)
